Obtaining the
Nós Por Elas Seal/ABNT

To support organizations in implementing good practices for preventing and addressing violence against women.

Step 1

Organizational Diagnosis

Conducting an initial assessment to identify the organization’s maturity level regarding certification requirements.

During this stage, a form is completed to map existing practices, opportunities for improvement, and key challenges for implementing the established criteria.

Step 2

Strategic Planning

Based on the diagnosis performed, a customized action plan is developed, containing guidelines, priorities, a timeline, and the measures necessary to meet the requirements that will subsequently be evaluated by ABNT.

Step 3

Training and Implementation of Good Practices

The organization receives specialized consulting, technical support, and training to structure policies, procedures, protocols, and actions aimed at preventing and addressing violence against women, fostering the effective implementation of required best practices.

Step 4

Assessment of Requirements (ABNT)

At this stage, the formal assessment process with ABNT begins, including:

• Completion of the Preliminary Assessment Questionnaire (QAP);
• Analysis of compliance with requirements applicable to the organization;
• Acceptance of the commercial proposal and definition of the certification audit scope.

Step 5

Independent Audit (ABNT)

On the previously scheduled date, ABNT will conduct an independent audit—which may take place remotely and/or on-site—to verify the conformity of the implemented practices and confirm compliance with the requirements of the certification procedure.

Step 6

Certification (ABNT)

Upon completion of the audit process and verification of compliance with the requirements set forth in the certification procedure for “Good Practices in Combating Violence Against Women,” the organization will receive the certification and be authorized to use the “Nós Por Elas” (Us for Them) Seal, demonstrating its institutional commitment to environments that are safer, inclusive, and dedicated to the protection of women.

CERTIFY YOUR COMPANY

THE 14 REQUIREMENTS

The required level of compliance varies according to the intended certification category, based on progressive criteria regarding maturity and institutional commitment to preventing and addressing violence against women.

The Nós Por Elas/ABNT Seal is structured into four recognition categories—Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum—with each level awarded based on adherence to the applicable requirements:

The Organization must submit a Commitment Statement regarding the fight against violence against women and the promotion of their rights, signed by the Organization's legal representative.

The Organization must provide evidence of the promotion of the "Red Signal" campaign (Federal Law 14.188/21).

The Organization must conduct at least two (2) educational activities per year aimed at combating violence against women, directed at its members and/or the local community.

Members must be trained to receive, with confidentiality and discretion, a victim seeking help, and to notify the competent authorities.

The Organization's Code of Ethics (or equivalent document) must incorporate issues regarding the protection of women's rights.

The internal compliance function (or equivalent department) must adopt measures to ensure the Organization's compliance with the policy on the protection of women who are victims of violence.

The Organization must have an ombudsman's office, a telephone hotline, and/or a designated focal point to receive reports and refer them to the responsible authorities in cases of violence against women.

The Organization must establish partnerships with NGOs, companies, or public or private institutions for cooperation and the development of measures aimed at protecting women who are victims of violence.

The Organization must use social media (or other communication channels) to disseminate and raise awareness about issues related to combating violence against women.

The Organization must develop internal projects, programs, or committees aimed at addressing violence against women.

The Organization has internal protocols in place should any member experience violence.

Does the Organization have a written procedure for handling reports of violence occurring within the Organization and maintain records of statistics related to this procedure?

The Organization must have internal programs or guidelines to direct its members to seek psychological and/or legal assistance, and must also have women staffing its ombuds office or reporting channels to investigate complaints.

The Organization has an initiative to encourage the recruitment of women who are victims of violence.
